My laboratory works on the mechanisms underlying autoimmune rheumatic diseases, with a specific focus on changes in autoantigen structure during differentiation and various forms of cell death. Understanding the in vivo sources of the antigens that drive autoimmunity, and the mechanisms whereby such molecules become available to the immune system, are critical for rational therapy.
