Field Of Research:

Developmental Biology

Research Interest:

We are exploring the mechanisms involved in deployment of localized cytoplasmic determinants in the the Drosophila oocyte and embryo. We have shown that mRNA localization, translational regulation, and protein anchoring each contribute to this process. Most of the current work focuses on localization of bicoid mRNA, and localization-dependent translational control of the oskar and nanos mRNAs.
