Field Of Research:

Structural Biology

Research Interest:

I am interested in macromolecular complexes involved in transport within the cell. Structure/function studies of the macromolecules involved in nuclear transport, specifically nuclear pore components, are one major area of interest. My approach will be to study subcomplexes of the nuclear pore, with the eventual goal of reconstituting the entire assembly. My lab is also studying macromolecular complexes involved in transport in the secretory pathway. Projects include structure/function studies for proteins involved in Golgi stacking and proteins involved in targeting secretory cargo to its appropriate compartment.
