Health Resources and Services Administration organizational chart containing active links to the agencies and divisions within HRSA. Through these active links, users can access each agency's website directly. Included in this organizational chart/links is the Bureau for the Health Professions.

National Center for Health Statistics.
Website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics. Through this website, users can access, download, or order all publications and data products related to programs of the NCHS.

Statistics.
This site is the federal interagency search engine to assist in locating and accessing statistics and other data products of over 70 United States government agencies. The Agencies link brings the user to a complete list of the data links accessible through this site.

Federal Web Locator.
Federal Web Locator enables users to quickly access federal agencies and quasi-governmental divisions of the United States government. This site contains both direct links by agency abbreviation and a complete listof federal agencies and offices grouped by branch (Executive, Legislative, Judicial).

Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics provides many research tools and access to the latest labor and economic data about the United States workforce. To access information about specific occupational groups, start with the Occupational Outlook Handbook link. To access data about the United States labor force use the Data button and follow the instructions for each section.

National Center for Health Statistics.
The National Center for Education Statistics, site of the official educational research agency of the United States government. Through the links on this site, one may identify and download many data resources concerning education in the United States.

United States Bureau of the Census.
The United States Bureau of the Census index of population characteristics. This webpage is a good starting point to locate census data broken down by specific characteristics, including health coverage, immigrant status, language spoken, family characteristics, etc.

Higher Education Information

Post-secondary schools.
The easiest way to access post-secondary schools in all fifty states. Through this page, users may access active links to universities, colleges, and community colleges by institution name or by state.

California State University.
The main webpage of the California State University system. Through the Campuses icon, the user can access a locator map for the CSU campuses. The names of each CSU campus on this map is an active link that will direct the user to the webpage of that campus. The main CSU website contains complete information about the CSU system.

California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
The main website for the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office. This website contains complete information about the California Community College system and other programs administered by the Chancellor's Office. Through the Divisions and Units icon on the main page, users can access a list of active links tothe administrative programs of the Chancellor's Office. Through the Campus Locations icon, users can access an interactive regional map. When a region is clicked, the user is directed to a complete mailing and telephone list for the campuses in that region. Each entry on this list contains an active link to that college's website.

University of California Office of the President.
The main website for the University of California Office of the President. Through this webpage, the user can access information about the offices and programs of the UC system. Through the Campuses icon on this page, the user can access a list of active links to each of the UC system campuses.

National Center for Research in Vocational Education.
The National Center for Research in Vocational Education provides helpful information about School-to-Career initiatives around the United States as well as policy briefs concerning work-based education and training and other innovations in vocational education. The Center closed in December 1999.

National Institute of Nursing Reseach.
National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Nursing Reseach. Many links and information about the various programs and research efforts of the NIH divisions relating to nursing.

California Board of Registered Nurses Advisories and Publications.
This page contains many policy briefs, advisories, and other practice-related documents of use to nurses and nurse administrators.

California Strategic Planning Committee for Nursing.
California Strategic Planning Committee for Nursing is an inter-agency cooperative that focuses on various aspects of planning for California's nursing workforce. Publications of the CSPCN are available through this website, along with information and updates about the collaborative's initiatives.

RN Advocate.
RN Advocate is an internet resource guide compiled by registered nurses. This page contains a list of active links to numerous RN-related organizations' websites.

Website of the Service Employees International Union, one of the largest unions representing nurses and other health care workers.

California Nurses Association.
Website of the California Nurses Association, the largest nurses labor union in California. This site contains information about the union as well as publications and news alerts relating to nursing in California.

Health Policy Information

Center for Studying Health System Change.
The Center for Studying Health System Change is an independent research organization funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Through this site, users can access various data products and research reports of the CSHSC. The CSHSC also manages the Community Tracking Study (CTS), a longitudinal research project measuring aspects of health care system change in 60 locations around the United States.

Center for Health Research and Communications.
Center for Health Research and Communications (CHRC) searchable database of health policy-related sites. The lists contained on this website provide direct links to many health policy and research organizations.

Center for Health and Public Policy Studies.
University of California-Berkeley, Center for Health and Public Policy Studies, contains information about the Center as well as links and PDF (Adobe Acrobat) downloads of publications from the Center's research projects.

Commonwealth Fund.
The website of The Commonwealth Fund. This organization conducts research relevant to many social topics, including health issues, especially concerning the most vulnerable populations in the United States. Under the Programs section of the home page, one can identify and download PDF (Adobe Acrobat) policy research documents relating to various health topics. Under the Grant Guidelines section of the home page, one may find information about organizational and program grants provided by The Commonwealth Fund.

Urban Institute.
The Urban Institute's Research page. This webpage contains links to the Institute's publications relating to social-economic research and public policy analysis. Publications relating to health topics can be found under the Social Welfare category. Users are able to download most documents from this site in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format.

Economic Policy Institute.
The Economic Policy Institute is a non-profit research center founded by two former secretaries of labor and several well-known economists. The EPI receives funding through foundations and donations. Through this website, users can access the EPI's publications and reports based on socio-economic research about quality of life issues for low- and middle-income earners in the United States.

Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that monitors and conducts research on many policy topics. International comparative health data is provided through several links on this site. Through the OECD homepage, users can view a complete list of publications and data products and order publications on-line.

California State Resources and Links

California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform.
California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform provides pre-placement counseling, including information on choosing a nursing home, Medi-Cal, resident's rights, services and quality information on all 1,400 + nursing homes in California; assistance with complaints; and community education on long-term care issues.

California Endowment.
The California Endowment was established in May 1996, with a mission to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of the people of California. The Endowment is a private grant making foundation. The web site offers free publications and information on grants.
