Disregard for personality differences can lead to conflict and misunderstandings in the workplace. Developing a framework to understand personal preferences and how they may be similar or different to those with whom we work can uncover opportunities to improve work relationships and enhance productivity. This three-hour session will use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the most widely-used personality assessment, to help participants understand their own and others’ styles and learn ways to bridge the gap when those styles differ.
Pre-work: Essential to the course is completion of the MBTI assessment. Registrants will be provided a link to the MBTI online and will be asked to complete it prior to the course date. Individual reports will be distributed during the course.
Objectives:
- Distinguish between each of the four dichotomies that comprise MBTI type
- Select an MBTI type that fits them best
- Link their MBTI type to their preferred ways of working
- Identify ways they can adapt to the preferences of someone with a different type
Workshop Format:
The seminar is a 3.5-hour classroom workshop with a didactic presentation and interactive exercises led by an expert facilitator.
